Arsenal made no contact with Napoli to sign striker Eduardo Vargas, agent Cristian Ogalde revealed.
The 25-year-old was one of the most impressive players in this summer's Copa America but is unsure of where he will play football in the next season.
He was loaned out to Gremio, Valencia and Queens Park Rangers in recent seasons with Napoli ready to permanently sell the player if an important offer is made in the summer.
"We had no contact with Arsenal," Ogalde told Radio Kiss Kiss.
"We are waiting for Napoli to call but to be honest we don't know where he will be playing his football next season.
"He is the top scorer of the Copa America so there will be plenty of offers for the player.
"Why he didn't feature more for Napoli? Ask [former coach Walter] Mazzarri who decided not to use him in his first year at the club."
