Chelsea and Liverpool could go head-to-head in a transfer battle to land Werder Bremen striker Max Kruse this summer, the Daily Star has claimed.
The player is available on the market for £16million and has been identified by both Antonio Conte and Jurgen Klopp as a perfect backup striker.
Chelsea have already replaced Diego Costa with Alvaro Morata but still need to replace Loic Remy who will leave this summer.
Kruse scored 15 goals in 23 league appearances last season.
He made the headlines last year after leaving €75,000 [£59,000] of poker winnings in the back of a taxi.
He was sanctioned with a €25,000 (£20,000) fine from his club and dropped by Germany.
