A Chelsea club statement said: "Charlie Wakefield has today completed a maiden loan move and joined Stevenage for the 2017/18 season.
"The 19-year-old links up with the League Two side following their unbeaten start to the campaign. Wakefield has previously helped our younger sides to success in the 2015/16 FA Youth Cup and in back-to-back UEFA Youth League triumphs.
"The speedy winger recently signed a new contract at Chelsea committing him to the club until 2019.
"Additionally, Under-18 midfielder George McEachran has signed a contract keeping him with Chelsea until 2019.
