Arsenal are ahead in the race to sign Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain according to SkyBET.
The 28-year-old has refused to sign a new contract with the Partenopei and could be sold during the summer transfer window.
It is a known fact that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has never blocked a transfer when it was the player requesting a move.
Former strikers Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani have both left the club to join Paris Saint-Germain despite being the key men for Napoli four years ago.
And Higuain could follow although a move to the Emirates is the preferred destination according to reports in Italy.
On Wednesday, agent and brother Nicolas Higuain confirmed that the Argentinean will not sign a new contract with the Serie A giants.
"We arrived with a Champions League project, of being champions, of growing, and the response of the company was not the most correct," his agent told Radio Continental.
"It's their right to ask for his buyout clause, but we will opt for the path of not renewing the contract and he will be free in 2018.
"In these conditions we are going to respect the contract that we have with Napoli but we are not going to renew it under any circumstances.
"Gonzalo is super professional and will continue to give the maximum."
The 28-year-old's buy-out clause is rumoured to be in the region of £72million.
