Arsenal have joined Milan in the race to sign Roma defender Alessio Romagnoli, Calciomercato.com has revealed.
The Gunners made an approach for the youngster after Roma confirmed that Kostas Manolas is not for sale.
According to the report, the Giallorossi are ready to sell Romagnoli but only if a £21m is received.
The 20-year-old is not the first Serie A youngster wanted by Arsene Wenger to strengthen the defence after he made an approach with Juventus last month to sign Daniele Rugani.
Milan have already made an official £17m bid for Romagnoli that was rejected by Roma with vice-president Adriano Galliani declaring that they will not raise their offer for the youngster.
