Roma are ready to make a move for defender Eder Alvarez Balanta, according to GianlucaDiMarzio.com.
The 21-year-old centre back has been linked with a number of teams this summer including Galatasaray and Liverpool but the Italians are determined to shrug off all competition to sign the youngster.
"Roma are interested in Eder Alvarez Balanta," the journalist wrote on his website.
"Agent Marcelo Ferreyra met with [director of football] Walter Sabatini but Roma are not ready to meet the expected fee of £4.5m.
"Sampdoria are also interested and are ready to make an offer.
"For sure is that a future in Italy is a possibility for the defender."
