Italy champions Juventus want to add at least one striker and one defender before the end of this summer's transfer window, on September 1.
According to reports in Italy, the Bianconeri are ready to make an offer for Bayern Munich's offensive midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri, who was impressive this summer in Brazil.
The 22-year-old is available for £18m with the Italian giants only able to offer £2m to have the player on loan with an additional £12m to be paid if they opt to keep him next season.
Another player heavily linked with Juventus is Arsenal's Lukas Podolski.
The Germany international never managed to make an impact in Arsene Wenger's side and is desperate to leave the Gunners to secure a regular place elsewhere.
Like Shaqiri, the Italians are only ready to sign the player on a season-long deal, increasing the offer at the end of the season to make the move a permanent one.
But they may have to increase the offer as Internazionale, Lazio, Wolfsburg, Besiktas, Galatasaray and Cologne are also interested in the 29-year-old.
