Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti has all but confirmed that Lucas Torreira will be an Arsenal player next season.
The £26.4million-rated Uruguayan is set to become Unai Emery's third summer signing.
Osti has made it clear that the player will not be at Sampdoria next season with the Gunners set to make an official announcement in the before the end of the month.
"Tomorrow we will have our first meeting with [manager Marco] Giampaolo," he told Sky Italy.
"This is when our transfer window starts. An excellent player like Torreira has left us but we will replace him.
"The squad will be competitive as always."
