Arsenal will announce the signing of defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos at the start of next month, transfer market expert Dharmesh Sheth has claimed.
The Gunners have already added plenty of experience in defence after signing Stephan Lichtsteiner but more experience is on its way in the form of the Greece international.
"We understand they have agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund for the defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos," Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast.
"That transfer is expected to be formally announced on July 1 - that seems to be all done according to our information.
"That makes sense because Sven Mislintat is on the recruitment team at Arsenal and was of course director of football and chief scout at Dortmund for the last 10 years.
"Why July 1? It's the start of the new tax quarter in Germany."
