New Arsenal boss Unai Emery is looking to boost his midfield options with a move for Sampdoria star Dennis Praet, according to Mirror.
The 24-year-old is one of the most interesting players on the market and his release clause is set to only £22million.
Market transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio has also confirmed the news.
The Italian journalist says Juventus, Inter, Roma and Napoli are all interested but are yet to make an official offer to sign him.
"Arsenal have also sent out a feeler for Praet of Sampdoria," di Marzio wrote on his personal website.
"They are looking to him as an alternative to [Lorenzo] Pellegrini [of Roma], but it can't be ruled out that the Gunners will try and sign both players.
"They have already had concrete discussions with the agent of Praet, and they could even come to pay his release clause of 25 million euro."
