Chelsea have apologised for social media messages posted by one of their players

By

Chelsea have apologised for the behaviour of Brazilian winger Robert Kenedy.

The defender is currently on tour in the Far East with the Premier League champions and featured against Arsenal on Saturday.

He posted two videos on his Instagram account in which he was disrespectful to China and the Chinese people.

He apologised for his behaviour and the club followed his apology with the below statement.

"Chelsea Football Club is very sorry for the social media messages posted by Kenedy yesterday evening," Chelsea said on Weibo.

"This behaviour fell well below the very high standards we expect of our players. Kenedy regrets the posts and any upset they have caused and has apologised.

"Everyone at Chelsea Football Club has the utmost respect for the Chinese people, who have been the most incredible hosts and we are extremely grateful for their hospitality."
