Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko says manager Antonio Conte warned him that he must work hard to secure a regular place in his squad.
The former Monaco man joined the Blues after a long summer of negotiations.
He is expected to take over from Nemanja Matic who is set to leave the club to join Manchester United.
"We spoke a lot about tactics, and training," the midfielder told the club's official website.
"He took the time to talk to me about my game and explain I must be serious-minded and work hard.
"I know that the Premier League is a very difficult championship, one of the most difficult in the world. It is very physical and I know you must be in fighting form to compete in this league.
"[My style?] I think I am an intelligent player who offers physicality and can also dribble and get by people."
