Chelsea attacking midfielder Eden Hazard has successfully underwent ankle surgery and will be out of action for three months.
The 26-year-old suffered the injury while on international duty with Belgium.
He was immediately transferred to London where he underwent surgery and will now start rehabilitation.
It is still unclear when he will resume training but he will surely miss the start of the new season.
A statement on Chelsea's official website reads: "Eden Hazard successfully underwent surgery today after sustaining a fracture to his right ankle while training with the Belgian national team.
"He is expected to return to training in approximately three months."
