Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says new signing N'Golo Kante will need time to settle down at Stamford Bridge.
The Frenchman became the club's second summer signing after refusing to sign a new contract with Leicester City.
The Italian revealed that the 25-year-old is still shy after joining his team-mates for pre-season.
But he also added that he is delighted to have him in his squad.
"I think N'Golo is a bit shy," Conte tod the club's official website.
"He just arrived in Chelsea and he must take confidence with the club, his team-mates and the manager. But I am pleased he is here.
"His physical condition is fantastic. He's a runner.
"He has great stamina. He has fantastic endurance, he's in good shape but we want to respect the time in training sessions, to get him to play with us in the future."
