Chelsea have made an official bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Edison Cavani, Le 10 Sport has revealed.
Despite the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic that should finally see the Uruguay international take a more central role in Paris, the 29-year-old has asked the club to leave.
The Blues have made an offer in the region of £42million but the French giants will only sell for £67million.
Cavani is Antonio Conte's secondary target for the offensive department with Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata still his primary objective for the summer.
Chelsea have already signed Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi who scored his first goals for the club in a pre-season friendly on Thursday.
But Conte wants to add another striker before the end of the summer transfer window even if Diego Costa will be at Stamford Bridge this season.
