Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says it would take a "long time" to explain why his side is not performing this season.
The Blues host Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday night knowing that anything other than a win would put them in a very dangerous position in Group G of the Champions League.
But the Portuguese is confident his players will respond and win the group.
"I know why," he responded when asked about form.
"I would here for a long time to explain, it is a combination of factors. Some of them I don't want to touch. But, yes, I know. Everything is football related.
"We don't want to blame social or political problems in some corner of the globe.
"When you reach my level you have to learn from yourself, from own experiences, from analysing the work I do day-by-day.
"That's why I have a staff of assistants, to discuss every detail of our job, and I learn daily with the experiences that come.
"I try to be better every day, not just because of this. If I was only a better coach because of bad results I'd be a very bad coach because in the past 15 years I'd have never improved.
"But I try to improve every day, I analyse every detail of my work very day. I analyse matches, it's what I do every day.
"I think Chelsea will finish first in this group, if we don’t finish first we’ll finish second. I am completely convinced we are going to qualify and I think in first."
