Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman will wear the Chelsea number 17 jersey and the first name "Baba" printed on it instead of "Rahman".
Speaking to the club's official website, the 21-year-old explained that his father is the reason why he opted to use his first name on his new jersey.
The former Augsburg defender joined the Blues at the start of the week and will compete with Cesar Azpilicueta for a regular place in Jose Mourinho's squad.
"It's because my dad's name is Baba," the player told Chelsea's official website.
"I love my dad so that's the reason. He's a Chelsea supporter so he's very happy and proud. He's not in the country at the moment but he will definitely be watching every game.
"My main [this season] aim is to win trophies for the club.
"Obviously Chelsea won the Premier League last season and I hope we can repeat that, and do even more. That's what I hope to achieve."
