Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says new signing Baba Rahman will add healthy competition in the defensive department.
As confirmed at the start of the month, the Portuguese signed a new left-back to fill the void left by Filipe Luis.
According to the player's former club Augsburg, the fee of the transfer will remain undisclosed.
"It's important because he's a left-back and he can compete with [Cesar] Azpilicueta," Mourinho said.
"At the same time, Azpi can also compete with Ivanovic for the right-back position.
"This player replaces Filipe Luis in terms of the balance of the squad. Hopefully next week he will be ready."
