Chelsea defender Gary Cahill says Sunday's win at Wembley will help his side push on for more silverware.
The Blues are still in action in the Champions League and lead the English Premier League with Manchester City failing to close the gap after suffering defeat at Liverpool.
But the Englishman, who was full of praise for 20-year-old Kurt Zouma, says Chelsea were not affected by the Anfield result.
"Fantastic. This sets up a good finish to the season," Cahill is quoted as saying by the BBC.
"Against our local rivals, clean sheet, we've won the cup, it's an amazing feeling.
They made it tough, they had a couple of chances in the first half but the skipper stood up for us with the goal, Diego [Costa] was superb, and every single player on the pitch gave 100%.
"This is what you get when you work hard, and it's special for me too because I've never won the League Cup before.
"We were aware of the Premier League results from earlier today but it didn't affect us. We knew we had a job to do.
"Kurt Zouma for such a young lad to come in to the team, he's been fantastic, and he played an unfamiliar position today. He's a great boy, a fantastic talent."
