Chelsea midfielder Mohamed Salah says he will benefit from his loan spell at Fiorentina.
The 22-year-old joined the Italians as part of the deal that saw Juan Cuadrado joining the Blues.
Coach Vincenzo Montella said last week that it will take time for the Egyptian to settle down in the Serie A but the youngster is determined to improve and secure a regular place with the Viola.
"I am really happy to be at Fiorentina," Salah told ViolaChannel.
"I hope this can be a step forward in my career. I saw the game against Roma [in the Italian Cup] and the team was great.
"Playing against Juventus in the semi-final will be great.
"I also hope we can do well in the Europa League. I already played against and eliminated Tottenham Hotspur, scoring against them when I was at Basel.
"I like competition, I'm optimistic.
"My friend [Ahmed] Hegazy told me a lot about Fiorentina. In Egypt the fans are very happy about my move to the Italian Serie A.
"My role? I play on the right wing but I can play on the left as well."
