Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a deal for Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira, Metro has claimed.
It seems the Gunners are ready to activate the player's £22million release fee before the World Cup Finals.
Everton are also keeping an eye on the 22-year-old.
Torreira would add depth to the Arsenal midfield who has struggled since the departure of Francis Coquelin who left the club to join Valencia in the January transfer window.
In other news, defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos is very close to making a move to the Emirates.
He will join Unai Emery's squad after the North Londoners reached a £16million agreement with Borussia Dortmund.
