Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu has confirmed that Arsenal have held discussions with his club about a possible summer transfer to the Emirates.
The 21-year-old has already made it clear earlier this week that his objective for next season is to enjoy regular first-team football.
The Gunners will be without captain Laurent Koscielny when the new campaign kicks off in August and are in desperate need of new players in the defensive department.
Soyuncu has a market transfer value of £35million.
"I am very thankful now that I have had a good season," the player told beIN Sports.
"I have spoken with the club about the offers.
"It is still early but things will be clear in one or two weeks."
