Arsenal attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan says it is a great honour to be voted as Armenia’s Footballer of the Year for the year 2017.
The 29-year-old rediscovered some of his old form after leaving Manchester United to move to the Emirates.
He won ahead of Tigran Barseghyan and Varazdat Haroyan who couldn't get anywhere near the 190 points of the Arsenal man.
"It is a great honour because it means you've achieved something," Mkhitaryan is quoted as saying by Arsenal.com.
"You've accomplished something important for the country and your followers. I am very happy to be the children's hero.
"I was a kid too, so I know what those feelings are. I too had heroes, I wanted to be like some football player or a hero."
