Transfer market expert Tancredi Palmeri has confirmed that Chelsea have made an approach to sign Maurizio Sarri.
The 59-year-old will be replaced by Carlo Ancelotti at Napoli.
FC Zenit Saint Petersburg are still in pole position to secure the services of Sarri but the Blues are monitoring the situation.
"Chelsea-Sarri: nothing has changed yet," Palmeri wrote on Twitter.
"The contact has happened, but Abramovich hasn’t taken a decision yet, and he is still not persuaded that Sarri can be ready for Premier. Sarri got on table a 6 millions € offer from Zenit."
It seems certain current manager Antonio Conte will be sacked by the club after he failed to qualify for next season's Champions League.
