Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic says his team showed character to battle past Palermo on Saturday evening.
The Rossoneri had to work extremely hard to take all three points against a stubborn Palermo team at the Stadio San Siro.
And Mihajlovic wants more of the same against Udinese and Genoa next week.
"I get the feeling that when we're in the lead, we're happy to settle or we're afraid to win," Mihajlovic told reporters.
"We need to believe more and when our opponents are struggling we need to kill off the match. We need to be more clinical in the final third of the pitch and more aggressive in defence.
"Montolivo has played well in these past two matches. I don't think I will change anything in that area of the team. De Jong and Montolivo are two important players.
"We now have 2 matches in the space of a week and everyone has to make sure they're ready. We have character and showed that tonight.
"After the match with Empoli, I spoke about the mental aspect and I think it is paying off. Now, we cannot afford to take any steps back and we need to stay on this track.
"We're still missing four key players: Antonelli, Bertolacci, Menez and Niang. They are players that provide us with alternative playing styles.
"The points we have collected so far are what we have deserved. At times, defeats can be more useful than a win. The loss in the derby showed the team that by playing together we can pick up some important results."
