Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi was full of praise for his players despite the 1-1 draw at home against Sampdoria.
It is Milan's 12th draw of the season ahead of next week's derby against Internazionale.
And the draw makes next week's derby more interesting as the two teams continue to battle for a place in next season's Europa League.
"I am very happy with the performance, we played an excellent first half of football," Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italy.
"We were not good enough in the final third, it was our only weakness in the first half. Then Sampdoria changed something and we conceded on the counter but we managed to equalise and hit the post with Suso.
"Shame for the scoreline, we should have been more clinical in front of goal.
"But in the end the only negative of the game is the scoreline, not the performance. We should not look at the table, we will do our best from now until the end of the season to improve our results.
"He [Suso] did well tonight, had he scored we would be here talking about a victory. He can become a very important player for Milan."
