Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi says his side tried to go for all three points against Chievo on Saturday evening.
After a below-par performance in the first 45 minutes of the game, the Rossoneri were more confident and adventurous in the second half.
And Inzaghi opted to replace injured midfielder Nigel de Jong with Alessio Cerci, as a clear sign that he wanted to win the game.
But the more offensive approach was not enough for Inzaghi's side as they continue to struggle with consistency.
"Maybe we could have done more in the first half," Inzaghi said.
"But I cannot remember any teams who came here at Verona and dominated the game.
"Chievo are tough, they defend well and are good on the counter but we tried to win the game, we had four strikers at one stage but we failed to score.
"We now have to work hard so as to be prepared for Saturday's game [against Verona] because if we take all three points our position in the table will certainly improve."
