Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi was delighted after yesterday's home win against Parma.
With new signings Salvatore Bocchetti and Mattia Destro immediately making their debut for their new club, the Rossoneri produced a much-needed win although questions will be raised after they again conceded from a set-piece.
And Inzaghi, who has been under heavy pressure this year, says the win was a must for his side.
"When seven/eight players are missing, winning is the most important thing," Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italy.
"We lost [Ignazio] Abate and [Riccardo] Montolivo before the game and [Cristian] Zaccardo never played before but he did exceptionally well.
"I was relaxed because the players were with me even when results were not going our way."
The win is Milan's first win of the new year in the Serie A but a much tougher match awaits them next week as they face leaders Juventus away from home.
And they will be without striker Mattia Destro who received his fourth booking of the season and will therefore be suspended.
"[Mattia] Destro's spirit is very nice," Inzaghi explained.
"It's a shame not having him for the Juventus game. I hope to have [Giacomo] Bonaventura, [Riccardo] Montolivo and [Nigel] De Jong back. Let's also hope Abate will not be out for long.
"Maybe [Daniele] Bonera will be back as well."
Asked about the possibility of signing Gabriel Paletta before the end of the transfer window, the 41-year-old said: "I know nothing about [a possible move for] Paletta."
