Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo says he is unsure when he will be back in action.
The midfielder was forced to miss the World Cup finals in Brazil after breaking his left leg during the goalless draw with Republic of Ireland at Craven Cottage.
He is set to undergo a medical checkup at the end of the month to evaluate his knee.
"I feel good but the bone needs time to heal. We're taking it one day at a time," the midfielder told MilanNews.it.
"I don't know when I will be back, it's fair to wait but I have a check up at the end of the month and I'll know more about my comeback."
Milan were very active during the summer transfer window adding a number of important players, including Fernando Torres from Chelsea.
And Montolivo believes the new players will need time to settle down.
"It is important to give [new signings] the right time to settle down," added the captain.
"The club did exceptionally well during the transfer market but I don't think it's fair to set any objectives.
"We just have to continue in the same way we started last Sunday and then we'll see."
