Internazionale coach Roberto Mancini says it's too early to talk about the title race after his side kept their unbeaten run intact.
The Nerazzurri battled past Chievo in today's early kick-off to register their fourth consecutive win in the Serie A.
But Mancini has played down his side's title chances after they opened a five-point gap at the top of the table.
"Our league position doesn't mean anything at the moment," Mancini said.
"It's important to be up there so that we can stay near the top over the course of the season.
"The main thing is we managed to get the win at a tough place like the Bentegodi, struggling and battling away against an in-form Chievo side who defend brilliantly.
"I'm happy with the way the lads played, also because it was very hot and Chievo kept everyone behind the ball. It wasn't easy.
"As for our defensive record, the new guys who have come in are helping out but if we've only conceded one goal so far it's down to the whole team and the work they're putting in. The more we work the better we get.
"That's the only secret to success."
