Roberto Mancini: It was a tough match for both sides

By

Internazionale coach Roberto Mancini says the goalless draw at home against Juventus is a fair result for both teams.

The Nerazzurri enjoyed plenty of possession and looked dangerous in the first 45 minutes of the game but struggled to keep up with the pace of the visitors in the second half.

And Mancini admits his players should have done better in the second part of the game.

"It was a tough match for both sides," Mancini said.

"It's the sort of result that can happen when two solid teams meet. We played to win, but in the end both defences came out on top.

"I'm satisfied because the guys showed character. It wasn't easy, especially because we had five or six players back late from international duty.

"Juventus didn't have many chances and neither did we, so 0-0 is a fair result. Perhaps we struggled a bit more in the second half and we should have stayed higher up the pitch, but these are difficult matches and we know we still need to improve.

"Fiorentina are the favourites for the Scudetto right now because they're out in front of everybody. They played very well against Napoli today, despite losing. It's a tough, even league this year and you need to fight in every game to win."
