Coach Roberto Mancini says Internazionale didn't deserve to lose after the 3-1 defeat away at Sassuolo.
In what turned out to be a heated encounter between the two sides, the Nerazzurri seemed to again lack ideas in the final third, a problem highlighted by the Italian at the end of the game.
"I believe Internazionale didn't deserve to lose," Mancini said.
"We didn't do well in the first half. We tend to do well until we reach the final third but then we fail to conclude.
"I don't think we should focus too much on winning the Europa League [to qualify for next season's Champions League].
"Our job should be to get out of this bad patch. When the Europa League resumes, we will think about it."
As if the defeat was not enough for the Nerazzurri, angry fans contested the team at the end of the game, throwing back onto the pitch the jerseys gifted to them by the players.
And Mancini says it is important for the fans to support the team.
"I'm sorry when I see things like this taking place, I'm not used to it anymore," he said.
"I understand the frustration of the fans but at the end of the day they are the same people who love the team.
"Our fans are pivotal, especially when things are not going according to plan."
