Roberto Mancini is at a loss to explain Internazionale's second-half performance as they lose 2-1 to Udinese in the Serie A.
The Nerazzurri produced a superb display of football to take a one-goal lead in the first half but failed to produce more of the same in the second part of the game allowing Andrea Stramaccioni's to take all three points from the San Siro stadium.
"I don't know what happened [in the second half]," Mancini said.
"I was pretty relaxed after the first half, we started the game well but we looked confused after we conceded and made mistakes.
"We had chances in the first half and by experience I can say that you don't close such a half with only a one-goal lead.
"What we did in the first half is just what we have to do in our next games. Some of the mistakes made in the second half are demoralising and dent your confidence because they are silly and the lads shouldn't be making them.
"It's impossible to be happy after a defeat but the lads are working well, the only negative is the lack of positive results. The only way forward is by working hard.
"I don't believe it's just a defensive problem. If the midfield doesn't help then they will struggle. Midfielders cannot only be focused on attacking without thinking of the defensive system. [Gary] Medel alone cannot cover the whole pitch.
"But we were perfect in the first half, in everything, and we can't just change like that from one half to the other."
