Internazionale technical director Piero Ausilio replaced coach Walter Mazzarri in yesterday's post-match press conference after the coach was "tired and exhausted" following the 2-2 draw against Napoli.
The Nerazzurri enjoyed most of the possession against Rafa Benitez's side but twice fell behind to Jose Callejon goals.
But it was Hernanes who restored parity in stoppage time in what was a frenetic finish at the San Siro Stadium.
"Mazzarri was tired and exhausted, he preferred not to speak in the press conference," Ausilio told reporters after the game.
"We played with intensity and pace in the first half, creating at least 4-5 goal opportunities. Napoli defended and closed all gaps so it wasn't easy for us to find gaps.
"It was a very intense game of football that we could have won.
"We lacked the goal [in the first half] and then in the second half Napoli showed why they are quality and we also suffered a little bit of fatigue.
"For example [Gary] Medel was not at his best after returning from Chile, same goes for [Mateo] Kovacic. Did you see how he left the pitch with Croatia? [Yuto] Nagatomo was also out and other players failed to recover.
"Nagatomo came back from international duty with a calf problem, he was responding well to treatment but the test he underwent this morning meant we had to be careful.
"[Palacio] had cramps, nothing to worry about."
