Former Internazionale midfielder Wesley Sneijder revealed he's still in love with the club and fans despite leaving the Italians following a pay-cut dispute.
The Dutchman refused to agree to a significant cut in his salary at Internazionale and spent months on the sidelines before joining Galatasaray.
"Some directors at Internazionale didn't treat me right, but I still love the club and the fans. I hope they win the Scudetto," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
One of the key elements in Jose Mourinho's treble squad, the 30-year-old explained that the Nerazzurri have to look forward and work with their new players.
"I think about Internazionale and I suddenly realise that the squad that won the treble is no longer," Sneijder said.
"[Yuto] Nagatomo should be handed the team's captaincy, he's one of the few who has been part of the squad for a long time."
Sneijder was linked with a possible reunion with coach Jose Mourinho during the summer transfer window but rubbished rumours saying he is happy in Turkey.
"Maybe I should answer 'never say never' like many do," added the Dutchman.
"But the truth is that things change in life.
"I'm in Turkey, Istanbul is fantastic, I have friends and my family and I are happy.
"Fans are incredibly emotional here and they might cause issues during games but in the street it's different.
"People respect you, they let you live. Even Fenerbahce fans respect me."
