Manchester United will officialise the signing of Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk next week, the Manchester Evening News has claimed.
Agent Gilberto Silva was in London last week to finalise the transfer with the Red Devils set to pay £52.5million to secure the services of the Brazilian.
The Red Devils are hoping to make the transfer official before the player flies to Russia for the upcoming World Cup Finals.
He would be Jose Mourinho's first signing of this summer's transfer window.
The midfielder will take over from Michael Carrick who retired at the end of this season to take on the role of coach.
