Shkodran Mustafi and Francis Coquelin will be in the squad to face Stoke City this weekend, manager Arsene Wenger confirmed.
The Germany international will add depth to a defensive department that is missing key players like Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel Paulista.
Per Mertesacker will also be back after the head injury suffered against Chelsea in the Charity Shield.
"Early team news is that from last week I think Mertesacker will be available again," Wenger said.
"For Alexis [Sanchez] it looks a bit early, but he works hard in training. Our medical people think Saturday comes too soon but he should be available for the next game against Liverpool.
"His recovery is going very well, he is working very hard but we have to be cautious. It was a muscular strain and [its important] not to have any setback on it.
"They [Shkodran Mustafi and Francis Coquelin] will be in the squad, yes.
"Well, for him [Jack Wilshere] it's good that he's back and available.
"I think he needs games now. He might play again on Monday night but overall, what is important for him is the natural progression to be completely fit. He is not far away now."
