Arsenal have made contact with Real Madrid to offer Alexis Sanchez in exchange of Karim Benzema.
Italian website Calciomercato.com has claimed that the Gunners would be ready to sell the Chilean but only if the Spanish giants include the striker in the deal.
It is not clear why Arsenal would want to add Benzema to their squad.
Manager Arsene Wenger has made it clear a number of times that he is happy with striker Olivier Giroud.
And the Frenchman was quick to repay the faith shown by his manager by scoring the winning goal last Friday against Leicester City.
Benzema, 29, was a target for Arsenal two years ago but their interest seems to have cooled down.
