Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says defender Shkodran Mustafi and midfielder Francis Coquelin will both miss this week's game against Chelsea.
The two are recovering from an injury but will be fit to face Leicester City on August 11.
The Frenchman also said that he will meet with striker Lucas Perez after the Spaniard told reporters he was upset with his manager's decision to give the #9 jersey to Alexandre Lacazette.
"He [Francis Coquelin] looks like he has a scan tomorrow and I don't think he will be available for the weekend," Wenger said.
"He doesn't look bad, but he will not be available. [It is an] ankle problem, ligament.
"He [Kieran Gibbs] has been sick over the weekend. He was supposed to play for the reserves on Thursday night at Boreham Wood but couldn't play. At the moment he's not available.
"He has one year to go [on his contract].
"Mustafi has come back today and will have tests during the week. For the weekend [Community Shield], he will be short.
"He [Lucas Perez] is injured at the moment. Yes, [he will feature this season].
"[The shirt number controversy? Well look, we sort that out internally."
