Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he already identified a number of features that Alexandre Lacazette possesses and that will be an asset to his squad.
The Gunners won the Emirates Cup last weekend despite losing their last game against Sevilla.
The Frenchman enjoyed a very positive pre-season and is expected to lead Arsenal's offensive department when they face Chelsea at the end of the week.
"I think he has shown some good things," Wenger told Arsenal Player.
"He was not involved a lot because we didn't have a lot the ball today, like we're used to having, and the strikers suffer from that. Overall, what he has done is good.
"It's his strength. He has a very strong record in scoring goals and that comes from the fact that he is in the right positions in the box and anticipates well. Overall, that is a very important quality that will be needed throughout the season.
"We didn't have the same dynamic as yesterday," Wenger added. "We didn't really look sharp. Sometimes it is good though to play with tired legs and to dig deep.
"I still think we could have drawn, but overall we played against two good teams over the weekend and that's what you want to prepare you for the season. We had tough game and everybody got 90 minutes."
