Arsenal legend Alan Smith has urged his former club to forget about Ross Barkley and make a move for Riyad Mahrez.
The Gunners made a move to sign the Algeria international last summer but their bid was rejected by the Foxes.
They have been again linked with the 26-year-old who made it clear at the end of last season that he will leave the King Power Stadium.
"I'd say [Arsenal should go after] Mahrez more than Barkley," he told talkSPORT.
"I think he's more of a match winner and he's a more mature player.
"I've just come back from Hong Kong watching Liverpool and Leicester in the Asia Trophy, and Mahrez looked sharp.
"Whether he's playing for a move, putting himself in the shop window, I don't know.
"He's definitely a Champions League player, although I know Arsenal aren't in that competition this season!"
