Arsenal have opened talks with Sampdoria to finalise the transfer of midfielder Jack Wilshere.
Reports in Italy have claimed that the former Serie A champions are ready to sign the England international.
The 25-year-old suffered a number of injuries in recent seasons including a left leg injury at the end of April.
But Sampdoria are ready to take a gamble and will offer £9million to sign the Englishman.
Manager Arsene Wenger has told the player that he can find another club with West Ham United also reportedly interested in signing him.
The Gunners are hoping to strengthen their midfielder by signing Monaco's Thomas Lemar.
Lemar is a confirmed target although the French giants have no intention of selling.
