The BBC has confirmed that Arsenal's bids to sign Alexandre Lacazette and Thomas Lemar have both been rejected.
It is not the first time Arsenal try to sign a player by bidding less than his actual value.
The same happened last summer always with Alexandre Lacazette and with Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez.
Manager Arsene Wenger is eager to add quality players to his squad but it is clear that the Gunners have to match the actual market value of the players they want to sign.
On Tuesday, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed that Lacazette could leave the club in the summer.
"Today [Monday] our position is that as long as we have not signed his replacement, we will keep him," Aulas is quoted as saying by Express Sport.
"He expressed the wish to leave and he was given an agreement to go to the club of his heart, but things did not happen.
"He wants to leave.
"We will discuss it in the coming weeks. If so, offers will be heard, provided they match the value of the player."
