Liverpool are leading the race to sign Arsenal attacking midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the Sun has revealed.
Recent reports have claimed that the Englishman wants a new challenge after spending six years with the North Londoners.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the 23-year-old who wants to feature in the Champions League next season.
On Sunday, he admitted that he would prefer to be deployed in a more central role in midfield.
"[My role?] I don't know, really," he said after the FA Cup Final won against Chelsea.
"Playing for a team like Arsenal, it ends up being more of a right-wing job.
"I get the ball from deeper and the plays into my hands more.
"At the end of the day, it's given me minutes and I'm not one to complain.
"But, the centre mid role... I've always wanted to be Steven Gerrard, so I've still got a hope of that."
