Manager Arsene Wenger is convinced Arsenal can win Group A of the Champions League as they prepare to host Basel on Wednesday night.
The Gunners kicked off their European campaign with a very encouraging draw away at Paris Saint-Germain.
They impressed at the end of last week as they eased past Chelsea and will be eager to produce more of the same against Urs Fischer's side.
"It's our target [to top the group] but the truth is on the pitch," Wenger said.
"We had a good game on Saturday but let's show that we can go from good game to good game and put the effort in in every single game. That's what it is about.
"In recent years we came always out of the group stage. Last year, let's say it was difficult because we made it difficult for ourselves and we have learned as well that in the group stage it's not only important to qualify but, if possibly, qualify as top of the group. It gives you many more chances after to go through.
"The win over Chelsea puts us in a consistent way.
"We respected the way we want to play and for us to score goals in big games gives us confidence. What pleased me most was the relentless team energy, the fact that we kept going no matter what the result was, and that we respected what we planned together. That's a sign of maturity.
"Our game is about style and steel, and we combined both. That was pleasing.
"Every time it's a new challenge but I believe the humility is to accept that you have to start from scratch again and show another performance. It might be a completely different game but we have to find the resources to win the game again."
