Arsenal have opened talks with Bayern Munich to sell 21-year-old Serge Gnabry to the German champions, according to Sky Sports Germany.
The youngster was one of the most impressive players during this summer's Rio Olympic Games and has been linked with a move to Hertha Berlin earlier this month.
But it now seems Bayern Munich have moved in pole position to secure the services of the attacking midfielder with reports in England claiming that if the transfer goes through he would be immediately loaned out to Werder Bremen.
Two weeks ago, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger made it clear that the youngster has a future at Arsenal.
"I want to keep Serge and to extend his contract," Wenger said.
"We stood by him for a long time.
"He want to West Brom and didn't get a game, and we had to to rebuild his confidence when he came back.
"I allowed him go to Rio without playing for us at all, to get him back to competition and help Germany.
"He has been here for a long time and it is important for him to stay with us."
