Defender Thomas Vermaelen says Roma's similar style of play to Barcelona was one of the reasons why he rejected a return to Arsenal to join the Giallorossi.
The Gunners made an offer to bring the Belgian back to the Emirates according to the Sun but he decided to embark on a new adventure in the Serie A.
"I think there's a good atmosphere in the dressing room," he is quoted as saying by Football Italia.
"I had a warm welcome from all the players. Of course some of them are familiar faces to me, which makes it easier.
"Training is going well, I am very impressed with the quality this team has and the game we played. So far it's going very well.
"I spoke to (Luciano Spalletti) a few times, I think it's very important to get to know him and how he wants the team to play. He wants to build from the back, play with the ball on the floor, which I'm used to, and as the months progress I'll get to know him better and better.
"They want to build from the back, which is similar to what I am accustomed to at Barcelona, so the way they want to play is quite similar."
