Arsenal attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil admits he expected more from the Gunners during the summer transfer window.
The North Londoners have signed Granit Xhaka, Takuma Asano and Rob Holding so far this summer but have failed in adding Jamie Vardy or Alexandre Lacazette to their squad.
The German added that other teams have reached a higher level after adding important players to their squads.
Manchester United have just finalised the signing of Paul Pogba with Chelsea also improving their midfield with the addition of N'Golo Kante.
"Of course, we all watch as the other teams strengthen and get [to a higher level] in the league," Ozil is quoted as saying by Metro.
"This decision is not with me, but the coach and the management.
"But it's not my job to occupy myself with it. I want to play my football and the team as best I can help.
"With Granit [Xhaka] we are all surprised and excited. We are fortunate that he chose Arsenal."
