Arsenal have turned their attention to former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez after failing to sign Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette, Emanuele Giulianelli revealed.
The Italian journalist was praised on Twitter after getting Thomas Vermaelen's transfer to Roma right.
He confirmed the Giallorossi were interested in the former Arsenal defender more than one month ago and the transfer was completed this weekend.
The Gunners are still chasing a new striker having failed in a number of attempts to sign the likes of Jamie Vardy, Alvaro Morata and Gonzalo Higuain.
Hernandez, 28, enjoyed an impressive campaign in the German Bundesliga after joining Bayer Leverkusen from Manchester United.
He scored more than 15 goals in 28 appearances and was named player of the month on a number of occasions.
