Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a shock £15million move for West Bromwich Albion's Jonny Evans, Mirror has revealed.
The Gunners are still chasing a central defender after former Germany international Per Mertesacker underwent knee surgery that will keep him on the sidelines for months.
It is not the first time the former Manchester United defender has been linked with a move to the Emirates.
Reports claimed last summer that the Gunners were ready to offer £10million to secure the services of the 28-year-old.
He eventually joined the Baggies for £6million plus £2m in add-ons.
This time, Arsenal are ready to offer an improved £15million offer to add him to their squad and strengthen their defensive department.
